Mikimoto Pearl
MIKIMOTO celebrates MIKIMOTO’s heritage as the originator of cultured pearls
MIKIMOTO
In 1893, Mikimoto Kokichi, the founder of MIKIMOTO, successfully created the world’s first cultured pearl. Since then, Mikimoto has been on a quest to harness the power of pearls to fulfill his dream of “adorning the necks of all women around the world with pearls.” MIKIMOTO is proud to present the extremely elegant Mikimoto pearls that only the originator of cultured pearls can create.

The brightest “Mikimoto Pearl”
The quality of a pearl is determined by several criteria, including its size, shape, color, and luster. An important factor to pay attention to is the thickness of the nacre, as this determines the luster of the pearl. Only Akoya cultured pearls of the highest quality and lustre can be called “Mikimoto Pearls”.

The quality of Mikimoto pearls
No two pearls are the same, even if they come from the same ocean or the same mollusk. To maintain the quality of Mikimoto pearls, MIKIMOTO uses only the highest quality pearls that meet the strictest standards, which on average make up less than 10% of all pearls we pass through.
